Stone Lighting

mp_StoneLightLogoIn 1984, Chris Stone decided to purchase a business of his own.  He looked for an established company as he had no work experience other than in the restaurant business. He found Mr. Woody Fogle who was ready to retire from the lighting business he was involved with since 1946.

Chris purchased the company and moved it from its original location on South Pine Street (across from the old Draper plant) to Oakland Avenue when he purchased the former Margaret Taylor Antiques, an upscale antique and interior design store.  He worked 12 to 16 hour days and every weekend learning all he could about lighting.  After 26 years, he’s still learning as the lighting industry changes continuously.

Stone Lighting specializes in residential and commercial lighting for new and existing homes and businesses.  They have a large variety of indoor and outdoor lighting fixtures and ceiling fans.  They have a great selection of recessed and track lighting, landscape lighting and replacement bulbs for any fixture.  They have numerous outstanding suppliers so if they don’t stock what the customer needs, they usually know where to find it.

They have the largest selection of lamp shades in the area and a wide variety of lamps to choose from.  They have the ability to make custom lamps from almost anything and they repair lamps and light fixtures.

Stone Lighting’s real specialty is customer service and using their experience to help the customer understand what type of lighting will work best for their needs.  Joe Richardson and Nancy Caulder assist Chris and together they have about 55 years of experience in the lighting field.

Chris and his wife, Krista, have two children and live in Converse Heights.
